The Moss Madden Memorial Medal for 2008 was awarded to Dr David Pitfield of the Department of Civil and Building Engineering, Loughborough University, for his paper entitle ‘The Southwest effect: A time-series analysis on passengers carried by selected routes and a market share comparison’, published in the Journal of Air Transport Management Vol.14, pp. 113– 122.

To Dr Aisling Reynolds-Feighan, Associate Professor of Transport Economics, School of Economics, University College Dublin, for her paper on ‘Competing Networks, Spatial and Industrial Concentration in the US Airline Industry’, published in Spatial Economics Analysis, 2 (3), pp.237-257.

To Dr Vassilis Monastiriotis, Senior Lecturer of Political Economy, European Institute, LSE, for his paper ‘Union retreat and regional economic performance: the UK experience’, published in Regional Studies, 41 (2), pp.143-156.

The Moss Madden Memorial Medal for 2006 was awarded to Dr Alessandra Faggian (School of Geography, University of Southampton, UK) and Professor Philip McCann (Department of Economics, University of Waikato, NZ and University of Reading, UK) for their paper titled “Human Capital and Regional Knowledge Assets: a Simultaneous Equation Model“, published in Oxford Economic Papers, Vol. 58, No. 3, pp. 475-500.

The Moss Madden Memorial Medal for 2005 was awarded to Professor Kim Swales, Professor of Economics at the University of Strathclyde and Research Director of the Fraser of Allander Institute, for his article entitled “Resource-constrained export-base regional multipliers: a Northian approach” which was published in the Journal of Regional Science, Vol.45, pp. 223-250.

The Moss Madden Memorial Medal for 2004 was awarded to Professor Amit Batabyal (A. J. Gosnell Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Rochester Institute of Technology) for his paper entitled The persistence of ecological-economic systems: alternate measures and their properties published in the Annals of Regional Science Vol.72 No2.

The Moss Madden Memorial Medal for 2002 was awarded to Professor John Parr of the University of Glasgow for his paper titled Missing Elements in the Analysis of Agglomeration Economies that was published in the International Regional Science Review Vol.25 No2, pp.151-168.The Medal was presented to Prof Parr at the 2003 Annual Conference Dinner in St Andrews, Scotland.
