Travel Information

There are two airports close to Cardiff – Cardiff Airport and Bristol Airport. Please note that both airports are located over an hour away from Cardiff Centre. InterCity trains link most cities around the UK with Cardiff. The journey time from London Paddington to Cardiff is just over two hours and leaves every 30 minutes during the day.

Cardiff Airport

The Cardiff Bus service X91 operates between Cardiff Central station and Cardiff Airport every two hours during the day seven days a week. The bus journey takes approximately 35 minutes from Cardiff Central to the airport. A timetable can be found here. The bus pick up and drop off points are situated in front of the terminal building.

A taxi booking office is located outside the arrivals hall. The approximate cost of a taxi from Cardiff Airport to Cardiff Central is £26 and a fixed fare system operates which is the same 24 hours a day. Taxis are usually available on arrival.

A rail link connects Rhoose Cardiff International Airport Station to Cardiff Central and Bridgend. Trains run every hour from Monday-Saturday and every two hours on Sundays. A complimentary shuttle bus service is available for passengers with a valid train ticket, which connects with all trains to carry passengers to the airport terminal. Bristol Airport

The nearest train station to Bristol Airport is Bristol Temple Meads, approximately seven miles away. The Bristol Airport Flyer express bus service connects you from Bristol Temple Meads to the airport every 10 minutes at peak times. Services run to/from Cardiff Central up to 2 times an hour at peak times and the journey time from Bristol Temple Meades to Cardiff is 50 minutes to 1 hour.

Cardiff Central Train Station

If you are arriving in Cardiff by train, you will probably arrive at Cardiff Central Train Station, located in the centre of Cardiff, within walking distance of the Millennium Stadium and city-centre hotels. Cardiff Bus Station
