Getting to Belfast
Belfast is served by two airports. Belfast International Airport has daily flights with from many UK destinations, Paris, Milan, and Amsterdam among others. It is located 35 miles from Belfast by bus or taxi. There is a frequent bus to the centre of Belfast called the Airport Express 300, and arrives at Grant Central Station in the city centre. This leaves from the front of the terminal building and costs £9.50 one way and £13.50 return. A taxi to Belfast would cost approximately £35 if taken at the taxi rank. Pre-booking is more expensive.

George Best Belfast City Airport is 10-15 minutes from the city centre. It has connections to many UK airports, including Heathrow, and also has daily flights to Amsterdam. It is served by the Airport Express 600 Service which runs every 20 minutes during peak times from the front of the terminal building to Belfast Grand Central Station taking around 10 minutes. A single journey costs £2.30.

Dublin Airport has a wider range of destinations, including in the US and Asia, and you can travel by train to Belfast from Dublin on an hourly service that takes 2 hours. There is also a direct bus connection from Dublin Airport to Belfast costing about €15.50 each way and taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

If you wish to travel to Belfast by ferry and train, there is a direct ferry with Stena Line between Belfast Post and Cairnryan in Scotland and Liverpool in England. It is also possible to sail from Holyhead in Wales to Dublin and there is a train connection to Belfast from Connolly Station in Dublin.  There is a direct bus from the port to Connolly station and there is also now a cycling greenway from the port to the city.

Getting around Belfast
Belfast is quite a compact city for its size. You should be able to walk between the conference venues and most hotels in the city. A 30-40-minute walk is the longest any hotel would be from the conference venue, if staying in the city centre. The Riddel Hall Campus is serviced by two bus routes, 8A and 8D. Both depart from Donegall Square East beside Belfast City Hall.

There is a relatively good bus service around the city also. You can buy 3 day flexible tickets on the bus company app. Details here.

We would strongly recommend the public bike scheme. Bikes and e-bikes are available for public hire, with over 30 docking stations located across Belfast City Centre. You can register as a casual user or annual subscriber from £5 and the first 30 minutes of each trip is free. To find out more, visit www.belfastbikes.co.uk.
