Getting around Cork
Cork is a very compact city and you should be able to walk between the conference venues and most hotels in the city. A 20 minute walk is the longest any hotel would be from the conference venue. The train station is 10 minutes from the conference venue and city centre and the bus station is 100 metres from both.
There is a relatively good bus service around the city also. If you are staying near the university campus then the 220, 205, and 208 bus services will bring you to the city centre in a couple of minutes. The buses will accept cash, but not debit/credit cards. There is also a Leap Card system but for short stays this may not be worthwhile getting.
We would strongly recommend the Cork City Bike scheme for which you can buy a 3-day pass for only €3. Any trip under 30 minutes (which would get you anywhere within the city) is covered by this pass. There are bike stands next to the conference venue and next to the university campus.
